Juvederm®

Juvederm®, a dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid, was FDA approved in 2006 for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Hyaluronic acid is a complex sugar that occurs naturally in the body, and adds volume and hydration to the skin. This smooth consistency gel can instantly smooth the appearance of areas such as the “smile lines” and “parentheses” or nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth), with results lasting six months or more.

Restylane®

In 2003 the FDA approved the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler, Restylane®, for the correction of moderate to deep facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). Hyaluronic acid is a complex sugar that occurs naturally in the body, and adds volume and hydration to the skin.  When injected into the dermis of the skin, Restylane® helps to restore your skin’s volume, creating a soft, natural, and more youthful appearance.  Results last 6 months or more.

Perlane®

Like Restylane®, Perlane is dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid, which has an important function of adding volume and hydration to the skin and occurs naturally in the body.  Perlane® was approved by the FDA in 2007 for the correction of moderate to deep facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).  Perlane® has a larger particle size than Restylane®, and is used to improve the appearance of deeper facial folds and wrinkles.
